Painting Time with Sound

Formats

A number of distinct live performance formats are available, each tailored to different contexts and audience experiences.

Format A: Concert

30–45 min
Best for
Curated bills, seated audiences, listening rooms, alternative venues
Experience
One continuous arc; repetition that mutates over time
Room logic
Works seated or standing; does not depend on crowd energy
Volume
Controlled and scalable for small to mid-size rooms

The Set

A focused live modular performance with a clear arc and a “concert” posture. Rhythmic drone structures, tape-memory loops, and slow deconstruction build a coherent body you can sit with from start to finish.

Format B: Environment

60–120 min
Best for
Galleries, installations, openings, hybrid events
Experience
Sustained field; gradual change; “always on” coherence
Room logic
Entry/exit friendly by design; no single “main moment”
Volume
Adaptable, from low-present to room-filling

The Drift

Durational sound sculpture designed for walk-in spaces. The music behaves like an environment: persistent, evolving, and legible from any entry point. People can arrive late, leave early, orbit, return.

Format C: Impact

20–30 min
Best for
Black boxes, late-night sets, heavy-leaning experimental bills
Experience
Compressed arc; higher density; decisive transitions
Room logic
Intensity-forward, but still readable and structured
Volume
Can run loud, but remains mix-aware and venue-safe

The Pressure

A denser, higher-impact variant kept inside a controlled frame. It hits harder without collapsing into chaos: repeated motifs, structured pressure, and intentional abrasion with legibility intact.
